What Is Cupping?

Cupping often provides a feeling of relief from physical and emotional tension. It creates a negative pressure on the skin, muscles, and fascia. I often describe it as the opposite of a deep tissue massage and surprisingly, just as relaxing!

I use glass or professional grade plastic cups and draw the skin, muscle and fascia into the cup. The vacuum can be achieved by fire removing the oxygen from inside the cup or a suction pump.

🌱

The negative pressure from the suction allows new blood to flow into the area of tissue. The exchange of blood allows the removal of dead cells and helps facilitate the regeneration process. Cupping also helps warm the skin and soften tissue to regain elasticity.

🌱

Cupping is wonderful for:

general muscle tension

neck pain

low back pain

IT band tension
